“I completed two weeks work experience in the ANZ property finance team in Auckland.  It was a great experience and great insight into the industry.  Thanks for helping me get my foot in the door.”

Career support through the network

Athlete Friendly Network partners see the value of employing top athletes because of their drive and goal orientated attitude.  Career partners can help athletes with finding flexible work, support performance or planning for careers after sport.

CV and job preparation

Develop and fine tune your CV, help prepare for interviews, learn about psychometric testing or work through job applications.  Your Athlete Life Advisor can assist with your career planning and also refer you to Adecco Recruitment, which offers free support through the IOC Athlete Career Programme.

Casual, part-time, flexible work

Many athletes need to find an income to support their sporting life.  Network partners offer flexible, casual and part-time work opportunities to fit around training and competition schedules

Work experience and internships

Get work experience and internships through network partners to build skills and learn on the job.

Post-retirement employment

It can be challenging starting again after reaching the pinnacle in sport. Network partners interested in providing full-time employment recognise the value athletes can bring to the work environment but also the challenge associated with starting a new career path.
