Bring on Birmingham 2022

The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games begin on 28 July and end on 8 August, bringing together up to 5000 athletes from 72 nations and territories.

The 22nd edition of the Commonwealth Games features 283 events in 20 sports. Women’s T20 cricket and 3×3 Basketball will make their Games debut in Birmingham, which will also feature the largest para programme in Commonwealth Games history.

The New Zealand Team will include up to 230 athletes in sports ranging from athletics and swimming to beach volleyball and para lawn bowls.

High Performance Sport New Zealand’s world-leading technical innovations and globally-recognised experts in disciplines such as Performance Physiology, Performance & Technique Analysis, Performance Nutrition, Performance Psychology and Strength & Conditioning play a key role in the preparation of New Zealand’s Commonwealth Games athletes in the lead up to Birmingham.

Working in partnership with National Sporting Organisations, athletes and coaches, 365 days per year, our goal is to support the team in all aspects of their performance and wellbeing, to deliver an all-important competitive advantage.
