Performance Summit 2025 looks at the next evolution of HP sport

Leaders and stakeholders from throughout New Zealand’s high performance sport sector will get together in March for Performance Summit 2025 to share learnings and ideas.

HPSNZ, the New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) and Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ), will jointly host Performance Summit 2025, having last done so in 2023.

Chair of Performance Summit 2025 Advisory Group Emily Downes says the Summit will be a critical opportunity to connect and focus on the learnings and trends that will shape high performance sport over the coming years.

“The theme of this year’s Summit is Breaking Boundaries – the next evolution of HP Sport’,” she says.

“We’ll look at some key learnings from the Paris cycle and hear from provocative speakers inside and outside the high performance sport sector on challenges and opportunities as we look ahead to Milano Cortina 2026, Glasgow 2026, LA 2028 and other pinnacle events.”

Keynote speakers will include:

  • Dr Adam Beard, international high performance leader and the first high performance director in the NFL
  • Rowan Simpson, a co-founder of Trade Me, who has been at the heart of New Zealand’s most successful technology companies
  • Rebecca Frizelle, former Chair of the Gold Coast Titans and member of the Brisbane 2032 Board
  • Dr Eileen Strempel, Dean of UCLA’s Herb Alpert School of Music and a Professor in UCLA’s School of Education & Information Studies
  • Holly Ransom, one the most dynamic international voices on leadership.

The Summit aims to capitalise on the connectivity and ability to collaborate within New Zealand’s high performance sport system, which is considered a key performance advantage.

Performance Summit 2025 will be held at the Waipuna Hotel & Conference Centre (58 Waipuna Road, Mt Wellington, Auckland) on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 March 2025.

It is an invitation-only event for high performance leaders, athletes, coaches, support team members, athlete representatives and other stakeholders from across the high performance sport sector.
