GM Capacity and Expertise, Pete Pfitzinger to depart High Performance Sport NZ

High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ) wish to announce that Pete Pfitzinger, General Manager - Capacity and Expertise, has confirmed his intention to leave the organisation at the end of the year.

A two-time Olympian, HP coach and accomplished sports administrator, Pete has played key roles in the development of HPSNZ and the high performance system in New Zealand.

As Chief Executive of the NZ Academy of Sport North Island, Pete had an integral role in the evolution of the Academy network, followed by the merger to establish HPSNZ.  Since 2012, Pete has led the six teams in the Capacity & Expertise Group focused on enhancing HP sport capability.

“Pete has been a key figure within HPSNZ since its inception and we will miss his knowledge and experience” said Michael Scott, CE HPSNZ. “While we are disappointed that Pete will not be taking up the offer of a new role within HPSNZ, I am pleased that he intends to pursue other opportunities to contribute to the high performance sport system.”

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at HPSNZ and am proud of what has been achieved” said Pete Pfitzinger. “My passion for New Zealand sport has never been stronger, and I look forward to exploring other ways to support sports and athletes in the coming years.”

While details of Pete’s transition are still to be confirmed, he will continue in his role as GM – Capacity and Expertise in the interim, to ensure a seamless transition.
